Bolsitas Box

Bolsitas Box

Life is full of stuff! Whether its work stuff, school stuff, traveling stuff, or anything else MyCajita is here to help keep it organized in style. Our Bolsitas Box features three beautiful and sturdy hand-woven organizing bags from Santo Tomás Jalieza, a small town in the Central Valley region of Oaxaca.

Known as the “Ciudad de Cinturones” (City of Belts), Santo Tomás Jalieza has kept over many generations their practice of weaving colorful and sturdy belts using the traditional tellar de cinturon (back strap loom) where they tie one end of the strings to a tree and then sit 5-8 feet away and strap the other end to their waist as they delicately pull strings, almost like they’re playing the guitar, to weave the beautiful designs and patterns into life. Their special techniques and knowledge create a tight and tough weave that can withstand life on the go.

What’s in the box:

(1) Large Hand Made Bag – 11.5” x 8.5”

(1) Medium Hand Made Bag – 9.7” x 6”

(1) Small Hand Made Bag – 7.5” x 5”

The set is available in 2 color options: Multicolored – white background with multicolored lines and pink zipper, or Grey – grey background with white and mango lines and a grey zipper.  The large and medium bags have an inside lining.
