We met Señor Pila in Tonala, Jalisco on the search for quality goods. He is a 4^th generation artisan and his focus is on painting barro (clay pottery) which is produced in Tonala. His skilled artwork was impressive and his desire to keep the tradition of artisans in Tonala alive was the motivation for what he does every day. His love of animals and nature is evident in some of his work and he prides himself on keeping his family’s tradition alive.

While exploring Tonalá, Jalisco, in search of authentic artisan-made treasures, we met Señor Pila, a fourth-generation master artisan dedicated to the traditional craft of hand-painted barro (clay pottery).

Every piece begins with generations of knowledge and is carefully hand-painted with remarkable detail. Inspired by the beauty of nature and his love for animals, Señor Pila's work reflects the rich artistic heritage of Tonalá while carrying forward his family's legacy.
