MOLINILLO
Antelmo Gonzaleza, wood artisan, made the molinillo with a passion and love for his work that is portrayed in the final product possessed in your hand. This wooden Mexican whisk is used to create the signature froth in Mexican hot chocolate.A smooth pestle bottom softens and grinds chocolate as it dissolves in hot milk. Loose rings aid in whipping air into hot chocolate and eventually results in the classic frothy top of a perfectly made Mexican hot chocolate.

Maestro Rolando Regino Porras is a 4th Generation Potter who comes from a long line of world-recognized artesanos. His mother was once recognized as one of the top 100 artisans of Mexico. Maestro Porras has worked hard to keep up his family's reputation. He has specialized his own technique of dying without lead or ceramic paint, and mixes his own combination of minerals and elements to come up with his own colors. His journal looks more like chemistry notes than a sketch pad. Maestro Porras is currently being exhibited in the Oaxaca Museum of Textile and Design and is an instructor at La Universidad de Monterey.
