THE PROCESS

Each Tenango is meticulously hand-embroidered by talented artisans using cotton thread, crafting not only wearable art but also the one-of-a-kind pieces showcased here for hanging. The artistic process begins with artisans cutting the Mexican manta for the artwork. Subsequently, unique designs are carefully traced onto the fabric using a pencil, and each piece is embroidered using a "blind stitch" technique. Notably, the stitches are skillfully concealed on the front of the fabric and nearly imperceptible on the inside, showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail.
