This glassware is crafted in Mexico by master glassblowers and made from 100% recycled Coke bottles. The bottles are washed and broken into pieces, which are then heated to a molten liquid and artfully spun, blown, and shaped into the beautiful glasses you see before you.

Talavera pottery is a form of Majolica pottery that came to Mexico by way of Spain and Northern Africa. The Moors introduced the geometric patterns to Spain during the 12th century and it was quickly adopted by craftsmen in Talavera de Reina in Castile, Spain who brought it to Mexico under the Spanish crown. The process of covering the base in white is the reason it’s called Majolica pottery (tin-glazed earthenware), and allows the colors to really stand out. These Talavera tile coasters are all made by hand. Modern screen printing allows the painters to make them accurate and consistent.

Following Chef Bret’s decade long career as Executive chef with the Patina Group, then the successful inception of Milk Ice Cream Parlor and Bakeshop in Hollywood, Ca., the couple has now created the perfect seasoning blend of chile spices and lime. A sure hit for your next cocktail!

PEZ POWDER RIMMING SALT:

Master glassblowers head up teams of 6-10 workers, each with their own role in the process. You can see the apprentices doing the basics, tending the fires, and delivering the necessary materials to each artisan. The flower vase starts off as molten glass that’s then rolled out like a cigar, the color is added, and the craftsman begins to blow and roll it to shape. From there, it is heated until it is tempered and illuminates a red hue before being placed in its mold and blown to the correct size. It’s then handed to the senior craftsman who rolls and shapes it before heading off to the oven for the final tempering.
