Dia De Los Muertos Box
Dia de Los Muertos is steeped in rich traditions that have survived the conquest of the Spanish and colonization. Used by indigenous people to celebrate the return of their lost loved ones to the land of the living. It was adopted by the Catholic church and has transformed over the centuries. Today, altars come in many shapes and sizes but an authentic altar has to have these 7 elements: candle, copal, salt, papel picado, a glass of water, and an offering of food/drink, and a picture of your loved one.
Our Dia De Los Muertos box includes everything you need to properly celebrate the day of the dead. We’ve custom designed an altar set with three hand-made clay pieces, formed from actual pottery during the 1st Monte Albon period of Atzompa, Oaxaca (500 BC). The box also features a handpainted skull and other essential items to get you started. Included is a candle from Amor y Flor scented with the cempasuchil (marigold) flower which is displayed throughout the streets of Mexico during this celebration.
